[verse 1] Forsothe [And I.] Joob answeride, and seide, [verse 2] Y wolde, that my synnes, bi whiche Y `des|seruede ire [haue deserued the wraththe of God I.] , and the wretchidnesse which Y suffre, weren peisid in a balaunce. [verse 3] As the grauel of the see, this wretchidnesse schulde appere greuousere [more greuous I.] ; wherfor and my wordis ben ful of sorewe [and my wordis, seid in iii. co. ben fulle of sorewe; resonably, if no rewarding is in liyf to comynge for peynes in this liyf, as Eliphath seide.
