[verse 32] In [In his I.] hondis he [God I.] hidith liȝt [In hondis he hidith liȝt; that is, bi the vertu and or|denaunce of God the liȝt of grace and of glorie is hid to summen, as to chosun men; and that this is vndirstondun of goostly liȝt, it is opyn bi this, that sueth. And he tellith of it to his frend; that is, to chosun men, for charite de|partith bitwixe the sones of rewme and of perdicioun. he may stie to it; that is, to the liȝt of glorie, to which a man may come with Goddis help, and bi meedeful werkis; this liȝt of glorie is maad redi onely to loued men; and therfor ech man owith for to drede, lest perauenture he be not of the noumbre of chosun men, for defaute of goode werkis.
