[verse 9] And the prestis clothiden hem silf with heyris, and ȝonge [the ȝonge C.] children boweden hem silf aȝens [lowli aȝens S.] the face [biholding IS.] of the temple of the Lord, and thei [the prestis IS.] hili|den the auter of the Lord with an heire. [verse 10] And thei crieden togidere to the Lord God of Israel, lest the children of hem schulden be ȝouun in [Om. [verse 11] Thanne Eliachym, the grete [greet or cheif S.] prest of the Lord, cumpasside al [verse 12] Israel, and spak [he spake S.] to hem, and seide, Wite

ȝe, that the Lord schal here ȝoure preieris, if ȝe dwellinge dwellen [in bileue shuln duelle S.] perfitli in fast|yngis and preieris [in preieris A pr. m. S.] in the siȝt of the Lord. [verse 13] Be ȝe myndful of Moises, the ser|uaunt of the Lord, which [the which I.] not in fiȝtynge with irun, but in preiynge with hooli preieris, castide doun Amalech tristinge in his vertu [strengthe IS.] , and in his power, and in his oost, and in hise scheldis, and in hise [verse 14] charis, and in hise knyȝtis; so [and so schul I. and so as Amalech was cast doun so shuln S.] alle the enemyes of Israel schulen [Om. IS.] be cast [casten IS.] doun, if ȝe continuen in this werk, which [that IS.] ȝe han bigunne. [verse 15] Therfor at this excityng [excityng or stiring S.] of hym [Eliakim the preest S.] thei [men of Israel S.] preieden hertli the [to the S.] Lord, `and dwelliden in the siȝt of the Lord [Om. b.] , [verse 16] so that also thei, that offriden brent sacri|fices [sacrifice S.] to the Lord, weren gird with heiris, and thei offriden sacrifices to the Lord, and `aische was [askis weren EL. asschis was F. askis was P. asske or pouder was S.] on [putt upon IS.] her heedis.
