[verse 1] Thanne the sones of Israel, that dwell|iden in the lond of Juda, herden these thingis, and dredden [thei dredden IS.] greetli of `his face [the face of Holofernes IS.] . [verse 2] Also tremblyng and hidousnesse asailide the wittis of hem, lest he schulde do this thing [these thingis S.] to Jerusalem and to the temple of the Lord, which thing he hadde do to othere citees and templis of tho [hem I. hem the which he had distried S.] . [verse 3] And thei [vn to Jericho the Jewis IS.] senten in to al Samarie, bi cumpas `til to Jerico [Om. ȝe, that the Lord schal here ȝoure preieris, if ȝe dwellinge dwellen [in bileue shuln duelle S.] perfitli in fast|yngis and preieris [in preieris A pr. m. S.] in the siȝt of the Lord.
