[verse 6] And now, Lord, bi [aftir IS.] thi wille do thou merci [Om. I.] with me, and comaunde thou my spirit to be resseyued in pees; for [forsothe IS.] it spedith more to me to die than to lyue. [verse 7] And so [also IS.] it bifelde in [that in S.] the same dai, that Sare, the douȝter of Raguel, was in Rages, a citee of Medeis, and sche herd schenschip of [spoken of I. seide to hir silf of S.] oon of the handmaidis [hoond maidens ISX.] of [verse 8] hir fadir; for sche [Sara IS.] was ȝouun to seuene hosebondis, and a feend, Asmodeus bi name, killide hem [hem alle S.] , anoon as thei hadden entrid to hir [hir, wilnyng hir for hir fleshli lust S.] . [verse 12] Forsothe [And IS.] it was doon in the thridde dai, while sche hadde fillid [fulfillid IS.] [verse 13] the [hir IS.] preier, sche blesside the Lord, and seide, God of oure fadris, thi name is blessid, which [the which I.] whanne thou hast be wrooth, schalt do [of thi goodnesse do S.] merci, and in tyme of tribulacioun forȝyuest [thou forȝyuest IS.] synnes [synne S.] to hem,
that inwardli clepen thee. [verse 14] Lord, to thee Y turne togidere [al togidre S.] my face; to [and I lifte up [myn iȝen S] to IS.] thee `Y reise [Om. IS.] myn iȝen [Om. S.] . [verse 15] Lord, Y axe [axe of thee S.] , that thou assoile [louse IS.] me [me out IS.] fro [of S.] the boond of this schen|schip, ether certis that thou take me awei fro aboue the [Om. IS.] erthe. [verse 16] Lord, thou wost, that Y neuere coueitide man [man for fleshli lust S.] , and Y [that Y IS.] haue kept my soule cleene fro al coueitise [vnleeful coueitise IS.] . [verse 17] Y medlide me neuere with pleieris [pleieris; dis|solutly and vnonestly. Lire here. C.] , nether Y ȝaf me [myself IS.] parcener [to be parcener IS.] with hem that goon in vnstablenesse. [verse 18] But [But, Lord IS.] Y consentide to take an hosebonde with thi drede, not with my lust. [verse 19] And ether Y was vnworthi to hem, ether thei perauenture weren not worthi to me; for in hap thou hast kept me to another hosebonde. [verse 20] For [Certis IS.] thi coun|cel is not in the power of man [man to knowe it S.] . [verse 21] Forsothe [But IS.] ech [ech man IS.] that worschipith thee hath this [this thing IS.] for a [Om. ISg.] certeyn, that [as bileue that S.] if his lijf is [is here IS.] in preuyng, he schal be corowned [crowned, if he continue pacientli S.] ; sotheli [and IS.] if he is in tribulacioun, he schal be delyuerid [delyuerid whan best tyme is S.] ; and if he is in chastisyng [in chastisyng; an other lettre hath in corup|cioun, that is, synneth bi ig|noraunce ether freelte. [verse 22] For [Certis IS.] thou delitist not in oure lossis; for after tempest thou makist pesible [pesible wedre IS.] , and after morenyng and wepyng thou bryngist yn ful ioye [outioiynge IS.] . [verse 23] God of Israel, thi name be [is g.] blessid `in to worldis, that is, til [Om. X.] in to [Om. IS.] withouten ende. [verse 24] In that tyme the preieris of bothe [bothe Tobie and Sara IS.] weren herd in the [Om. IS.] siȝt of glorie [the glorie IS.] of hiȝeste [the hiȝest S.] God; [verse 25] and Raphael, the hooli aungel of the Lord, was sent for [Om. IS.] to heele hem bothe, whose preyeris weren [of holi aungels weren S.] rehersid in o tyme in the [Om. I.] siȝt of the Lord.
