CAP. VI.
[verse 1] Thanne Salomon seide, The Lord bi|hiȝte, that he wolde dwelle in derknesse [derknesses C.] ; [verse 2] forsothe [and INS.] I haue bilde an hows to his name, that he schulde dwelle there [there ynne INS.] with outen ende. [verse 3] And Salomon turnede his face, and blesside [he blesside INS.] al the multitude of Is|rael; for al the cumpeny stood ententif [ententif, or takinge tent I. ententife, that is, taking heed bisili S.] ; [verse 4] and he [Salomon INS.] seide, Blessid be the Lord God of Israel, for he fillide [hath fulfillid INS.] in werk that thing, that he spak to Dauid, my fadir, and [verse 5] seide, Fro [For NS.] the dai in which Y ledde my puple out of the lond of Egipt, Y chees not a citee of alle the lynagis [linage S.] of Israel, that an hows schulde be bildid therynne to my name, nether Y chees ony other man, that he schulde be duyk on [upon IS.] my pu|ple [verse 6] Israel; but Y chees Jerusalem, that [that and S.] my name be therynne, and Y chees Dauid, to ordeyne hym on [upon IS.] my puple Israel. [verse 7] And whanne it was of the wille of Dauid, my fadir, to bilde an hows to the name of the [verse 8] Lord God of Israel, the Lord seide to hym, For this was thi wille, `that thou woldist [to S.] bilde [haue bilde IN.] an hows to my name, sotheli thou [verse 9] didist wel, hauynge suche a wil, but [but ȝit NS.] thou schalt not bilde an hows to me; netheles the sone, that schal go out of [at S.] thi leendis, he schal bilde an hows to my name. [verse 10] Ther|for the Lord hath fillid [fulfillid INS.] his word, which [that INS.] he spak; and Y roos [roos up INS.] for Dauid, my fader, and Y sat on [upon IS.] the trone of Israel, as the Lord spak, and Y bildide [haue bildid INS.] an hous to the [verse 11] name of the Lord God of Israel; and I haue put therynne the arke, in which is the couenaunt of the Lord, which he `co|uenauntide with [comaundide to S.] the sones of Israel. [verse 12] Ther|for Salomon stood bifor the auter of the Lord euene aȝens al the multitude of Is|rael, and stretchide [he stretchide INS.] forth his hondis. [verse 13] For [And INS.] Salomon hadde maad a brasun founde|ment, and hadde [he hadde INS.] set it in the myddis of the greet hows, and it hadde fyue cubitis
