S.] hym trees of cedre, that he schulde bilde to hym [verse 4] an hows, in which also he dwellide; so do thou with [to X.] me, that Y bilde an hows to the name of `my Lord God [the Lord my God S.] , and that Y halewe it, to brenne [brenne yne S.] encense [incense therynne IN.] bifor hym, and to make [make there I. make therynne S.] odour of swete smellynge [welle smelling S.] spiceries, and to [to serue to S.] euerlastynge settynge forth of looues, and to [to make therynne IS. [verse 6] Who therfor may haue myȝt to bilde a worthi hows to hym? For if heuene and the [Om. INS.] heuenes of heuenes moun not take [take or holde IN.] hym [him, or holde the Lord our God S.] , hou greet am Y, that Y may bilde `an hows [a couenable houce S.] to hym, but to this thing [thing or seruise S.]

[verse 12] And he [Yram INS.] addide [addide to INS.] , seiynge, Blessid be the Lord God of Israel, that [which plures.] made heuene and erthe, which ȝaf [hath ȝoue INS.] to `Dauid the kyng [kyng Dauid INS.] a wijs sone, and lernd, and witti, and prudent, that he schulde bilde an hows to the Lord, and a paleis to hym silf. [verse 13] Therfor [Therfor Salomon IS pr. m.] Y sente [haue sent INS.] to thee a prudent man and moost kun|nynge, [verse 14] Iram, my fadir, the sone of a wom|man of the lynage of Dan, whos fadir was a man of Tire; whiche [the whiche I.] Iram can worche in gold, and siluer, bras [in bras INS.] , and irun [in irun IN.] , and marble [in marble INS.] , and trees [in trees INS.] , also in purpur, and iacynct, and bijs, and rede [in rede INS.] silke; and which [the which I.] Iram can graue al [in al S.] grauyng, and fynde [can fynde S.] prudentli, what euer thing is nede|ful in werk with thi crafti men, and with the crafti men of my lord Dauid, thi fadir.

[verse 15] Therfor, my lord, sende thou to thi ser|uauntis the whete, and barli, and oyle, and wyn, whiche [that I.] thou bihiȝtist [hast bihiȝt INS.] . [verse 16] Sotheli [And INS.] we schulen kitte trees of the Liban, how many euere thou hast nedeful [need of I.] ; and we schulen brynge tho [tho trees INS.] in schippis bi the see in to Joppe; forsothe [and INS.] it schal be thin [thin doyng INS.] to lede tho ouer in to Jerusalem. [verse 17] Ther|for [Thanne I.] Salomon noumbride alle men con|uertid fro hethenesse, that weren in the lond of Israel, aftir the noumbryng which [that IS. of N.] Dauid, his fadir, noumbride [had noumbrid INS.] ; and an hun|drid thousynde and thre and fifti thou|synde and sixe hundrid weren foundun [founden of hem IS.] . [verse 18] And he [Salomon INS.] made [made or ordeyned IS.] of hem seuenti thousynde, that schulden bere birthuns in [on I.] schuldris [her schuldris INS.] , and `foure score [eiȝti BCELW.] thousynde, that schulden kitte [hewe INS.] stonys in hillis; sotheli [and INS.] he made thre thousynde and sixe hundrid soue|reyns of werkis of the puple.
