[verse 1] Forsothe it was don in the nynthe ȝeer of his [the I.] rewme [rewme of Sedechie I.] , in the tenthe moneth, in the tenthe dai of the moneth, Nabugodo|nosor, kyng of Babiloyne, cam, he, and al his oost, in to Jerusalem; and thei cum|passiden
it, and bildiden `stronge thingis [strengthingis EIKLMPXb.] in the cumpass [cumpas aboute I.] therof. [verse 2] And the citee was closid, and cumpassid, `til to [vnto I.] the [Om. I.] [verse 3] eleuenthe ȝeer of king Sedechie [Ezechie I.] , in the nynthe day of the monethe; and hungur `hadde maistrie [wexide ouer myȝt I.] in the citee, and `breed was not [ther was not bred I.] to the [Om. EL.] puple of the lond. [verse 4] And the citee was brokun, and alle men wer|riours fledden in the niȝt bi the weie of the [Om. EL.] ȝate, which [that I.] is bitwixe the double wal, to [towarde I.] the gardyn of the kyng; sotheli Caldeis [the Caldeis I.] bisegiden the citee `bi cumpas [in cum|pas plures. aboute I.] . Therfor Sedechie fledde [fledde fro Jerusalem I.] bi the weie that ledith to the feeldi placis of the wildir|nesse; [verse 5] and the oost of Caldeis pursuede the king, and it [Om. A pr. m. I.] took [token I.] him in the pleyn of Jerico; and alle the werriours, that weren with him [Sedechie I.] , weren scaterid [scaterid abrood I.] , and leften him. [verse 6] Therfor thei ledden the king takun to the king of Babiloyne, in to Reb|latha, which [the which I.] spak dom with him [Sedechie I.] , `that is, with Sedechie [Om. I.] . [verse 7] Sotheli he killide the sones of Sedechie bifor him, and puttide [he putte I.] out his iȝen, and boond [he boond I.] him with chaynes, and ledde him [Om. plures.] in to Babiloyne. [verse 8] In the fifthe monethe, in the seuenthe dai of the monethe, thilke is the nyntenthe ȝeer of the king of Babiloyne, Nabuzardan, prince of the oost, seruaunt of the king of Babi|loyne, [verse 9] cam in to Jerusalem; and he brente the hows of the Lord, and the hows of the king, and the housis of Jerusalem, and he [verse 10] brente bi fier ech hows [hows therof I.] ; and al the oost of Caldeis, that was with the prince of knyȝtis, distriede the wallis of Jerusalem `in cumpas [aboute I.] . [verse 11] Forsothe Nabuzardan, prince of the chyyualrie, translatide the tother part of the puple, that dwellide in the citee [citee of Jerusalem I.] , and the fleeris, that hadden fled ouer to the king of Babiloyne, and the [verse 12] residue [remenaunt ELP.] comyn puple; and he lefte of the pore men of the lond vyntilieris, and erthe
[verse 13] Sotheli Caldeis [men of Caldey I.] braken the bra|sun pilers, that weren in the temple, and the foundementis, and the see of bras, that was in the hous of the Lord; and thei translatiden [baren ouer I.] al the metal in to Babi|loyne. [verse 14] And thei token the pottis of bras, and trullis, and fleisch hokis, and cuppis, and morteris, and alle brasun vessels, in [verse 15] whiche thei [men I.] mynystriden [mynystriden in the temple I.] ; also [Om. I.] and cen|seris [censeris also I.] , and violis. The prince of the chy|ualrie took tho [tho thingis I.] that weren of gold, and [verse 16] tho that weren of siluer, that is [is to wite I.] , twei pi|leris, o see, and the foundementis [foundementis or basis I.] , whiche king Salomon hadde maad `in to [to A sec. m. b pr. m.] the tem|ple of the Lord; and [and ther was I.] no weiȝte [certeyn weiȝte I.] was [Om. [verse 17] O piler hadde eiȝten cubitis of hiȝte, and a brasun pomel on [upon I.] it of the heiȝte of thre cubitis, and a werk lijk a net, and pomgarnadis on [upon I.] the pomel of the piler, alle thingis of bras; and the secounde piler hadde [hadde also I.] lijk ourn|yng. [verse 18] Also the prince of the [Om. S.] chyualrie took Saraie, the firste preest, and Sophony, [verse 19] the secunde prest, and thre porteris, and oon [an I.] onest seruaunt of the citee, that was a [Om. A pr. m. EL.] souereyn ouer men werriours, and fyue men `of hem [Om. R.] that stoden bifor the king, whiche he [Nabuzardan I.] foond in the citee [citee of Jerusalem I.] ; and he took Sopher, the [Om. I.] prince of the oost [oost of Sedechie I.] , that preuide ȝonge knyȝtis, `ether men able to batel [Om. I.] , of the puple of the lond, and sixe men of the comyns, that weren foundyn [verse 20] in the citee; whiche [the whiche I.] Nabuzardan, prince of the chyualrie, took, and ledde to the king of Babiloyne, in to Reblatha. [verse 21] And the kyng of Babiloyne smoot hem, and killide hem in Reblatha, in the lond of Emath; and Juda was translatid fro his lond. [verse 22] Sotheli he [Nabugodonosor I.] made souereyn [Om. I.] Godolie, sone [the sone I.] of Aicham, sone [the sone I.] of Saphan, to [souereyn to I.] the puple that was left in the lond of Juda; which [the which I.] puple Nabugodonosor, king of Ba|biloyne,
hadde left [left in Juda I.] . [verse 23] And whanne alle the duykis of knyȝtis [knyȝtis of Sedechie I.] hadde herd these thingis, thei [Om. I.] , and the men that weren with hem, that is [is to wite I.] , that the king of Babi|loyne hadde ordeyned Godolie [Godolie to be souereyn in Juda I.] , thei camen [camen togidere I.] `to Godolie [Om. I.] , in [into K.] Maspha, Ismael, sone [the sone I.] of Nathanye, and Johannan, sone [the sone I.] of Charee, and Saraie, sone [the sone I.] of Thenameth of Necho|phat, and Jeconye, sone [the sone I.] of Machati, thei, and Machat, and [Om. I.] the felowis of hem. [verse 24] And Godolie swoor to hem, and to the felowis of hem, and seide, Nyle ȝe drede to serue the [to EILP.] Caldeis; dwelle ȝe in the lond, and serue ȝe [ȝe to IK.] the king of Babiloyne, and it schal be wel to ȝou. [verse 25] Forsothe it was don in the seuenthe monethe, `that is, sithen [that G.] Godolie was maad souereyn [after the souereyntee of Godolie I,] , His|mael, the sone of Nathanye, sone [the sone I.] of Ely|sama, of the `kyngis seed [seed of king Sedechie I.] , cam, and ten men with hym, and thei smytiden [smoten I. smeten ELP.] Godo|lie, which [that I.] diede; but also thei smytiden [smyten I. smetin ELP.] Jewis and Caldeis, that weren with hym [Godolie I.] in Maspha. [verse 26] And al the puple roos fro litil [the litil I.] `til to [vnto I.] greet [the greet I.] , and the prynces of knyȝtis, and camen [thei camen or fledden I.] in to Egipt, and dredden Caldeis [the Caldeis I.] . [verse 27] Therfor it was doon in [Om. K.] the seuenthe [seuen EIKLS.] and threttithe ȝeer of transmigracioun [the transmigracioun I.] , `ether passyng ouer [Om. I.] , of Joakyn, kyng of Juda, in the tweluethe monethe, in the seuene and twentithe dai of the monethe, Euylmeradach, kyng of Babiloyne, in the ȝeer in which he bigan to regne, reiside [ne reiside I.] the heed of Joakyn, kyng [verse 28] of Juda, fro prisoun, and spak to hym benygneli; and he settide [sette I.] the trone of Joakyn aboue the trone of kyngis, that weren with hym in Babilonye. [verse 29] And he [Euylmeradach I.] chaungide `hise clothis [the clothis of Joachin I.] , whiche [that I.] he hadde in prisoun; and he eet breed euer in the siȝt of Euylmeradach, in alle the daies of his lijf. [verse 30] Also Euylmeradach ordeynede sustenaunce `to hym [for Joachin I.] with out ceessyng;
