CAP. XV.
[verse 1] And Samuel seide to Saul, The Lord sente me, that Y schulde anoynte thee in to `kyng on [a kyng upon I.] his puple Israel; now therfor here thou the vois `of the Lord [Om. I.] . [verse 2] The Lord of oostis seith thes thingis, Y haue rikenyd [brouȝt to mynde I.] what euer thingis Amalech dide [hath do I.] to Israel; hou Amalech aȝenstood Israel in the weie, whanne he [Israel I.] stiede [stiede up I.] from E|gipt. [verse 3] Now therfor go thou, and sle Ama|lech, and distruye thou alle `thingis of hym [his thingis I.] ; spare thou not hym, and [ne I.] coueyte thou not [Om. I.] ony thing of hise thingis; but sle thou fro man `til to [vnto EL.] womman, and a [Om. F sec. vice. EIPXb.] litil child, and soukynge, an [Om. F sec. vice. DEIPXb.] oxe, and scheep, and camel, and asse. [verse 4] Therfor [And so I.] Saul comaundide to [Om. I.] the puple [puple to be gadrid to gidre I.] , and he noumbride hem as lambren twei hundrid thousynde of foot men, and ten thousynde of men of Juda. [verse 5] And whanne Saul cam to the citee of Amalech, he made redi buyschementis in the stronde. [verse 6] And Saul seide to Cyney [the peple of Cyney I.] [Saul seide to Cyney, that is, to hem that camen of Jetro, and weren with the sones of Israel. Lire here. And Cyney departide fro the myddis of Amalech. [verse 7] And Saul smoot Amalech fro Euila, til [to E. tho L.] thou [he A sec. m. X sec. m. EIPb.] come [came I. cam P.] to Sur [Assur F sec. m. EGKLNPQRbX sec. m.] , which is aȝens [euen aȝens I.] Egipt. [verse 8] And he [Saul I.] took Agag quyke [aliyue I.] , the kyng of Amalech; sotheli [and I.] he killide bi the [Om. I.] scharpnesse of swerd alle the comyn puple. [verse 9] And Saul and the [his I.] puple sparide Agag, and the [his I.] beste flockis of scheep, and of grete beestis, and clothis, and rammes, and alle thingis that weren faire; and thei nolden [wolden not I.] destrie tho; sotheli [but I.] what euer thing was vijl, and repreuable, thei dis|trieden this [that thing I. it EL.] .
