[verse 1] Forsothe Jerico was closid and wardid, for the drede of the sones of Israel, and no man durste entre [go yn I.] , ethir go out [out therof I.] . [verse 2] And the Lord seide to Josue, Lo! Y ȝaf [haue ȝouen I.] in to thin hondis Jerico, and the king therof, and alle strong [the strong I.] men [men of it I.] . [verse 3] Alle ȝe fiȝteris, cumpasse [cumpasseth I.] the citee onys bi the day; so ȝe schulen do in [bi I.] sixe daies. [verse 4] Forsothe [And I.] in the seuenthe dai the preestis schulen take seuene clariouns, of [Om. I.] whiche `the vss is [ben vsid I.] in iubile [the iubilee I.] ; and thei schulen go bifor the arke of boond of pees; and seuen sithes ȝe schulen cumpasse [go aboute I.] the citee, and the preestis schulen trumpe with clariouns [the clariouns I.] . [verse 5] And whanne the vois of the trumpe schal sowne lengere [longe tyme I.] , and more [Om. I.] bi whiles, and [Om. I.] ooth. [verse 23] And the ȝonge men entriden [entriden yn I.] , and ledden [thei ledden I.] out Raab, and her fadir, and modir, and bri|theren [alle here britheren I.] , and al the [Om. In that tyme Josue [verse 26] preiede hertli, and seide, Cursid bifor the Lord be the man, that reisith [reisith vp I.] and bildith the citee of Jerico! Leie he the founde|mentis therof in his firste gendrid sone, and putte he the ȝatis therof in the laste of fre [his fre I.] children. [verse 27] Therfor [Thanne I.] the Lord was with Josue, and his name was pupplischid in ech lond.
