[verse 1] Jericho forsothe was closid and waardid, for drede of the sones of Irael, and no man dorst goo in, or goo out. [verse 2] And the Lord seide to Josue, Loo, Y haue ȝeue into thin hoondis Jericho, and the kyng of it, and alle the stronge men. [verse 3] Gooth about the cytee, alle ȝe [the B.] fiȝters, to gidre bi the day; so ȝe shulen do six days. [verse 4] For|sothe the seuenthe day the prestis shu|len taak seuen trompes, whos vse is in the iubile; and go thei before the arke of the boond of pees; and seuen sithis [sithe BFH.] ȝe shulen goo about the cyte, and the prestis shulen crye with the trompes. [verse 5] And whanne the voyce of the trompe lenger and thicker [more braggynge E pr. m.] ful sowneth, and in ȝoure eeris braggith, al the puple shal crye with moost [a moost CE.] out crye; and the wallis of the cyte shulen fuldoun falle, and eche shal goon in bi the place, aȝens the which thei stoden. [verse 6] Josue thanne, the sone of Nun, clepide [cleep EF.] the prestis, and seide to hem, Taak ȝe the arke of the boond of pees, and seuen other prestis taak thei seuen trompes of the iubilees, and goo thei before the arke of the Lord. [verse 7] For|sothe to the puple he seith, Gooth, and enuyrowneth the cite, aarmed goynge be|fore the arke of the Lord. [verse 8] And whanne Josue hadde eendid the [thes A.] wordis, and seuen preestis with seuen trompes crieden be|fore the arke of the boond of pees of the [verse 9] Lord, and al the puple aarmed wente be|fore, the left comouns folowid the arke,
