                                  Iacob sit in halle & clepeþ Iosep his sone;

                                  Þat child swiþe sone to his fader is icome.
                                
                                  At his fader fot þat child him sit akne,
                                
                                  & axeþ him wel feire wat his wille be.
                                
                                  Sone seide Iacob, 'Wende þou most afeld
                                
                                  To seche þine breþren, & wer be here teld.

                                  Bring vs hom tiding hu þine breþren fare.
                                
                                  Vre Louerd, þat is in heuene, berewe þe from care.'
                                
                                  Iosep geþ afeldward, euel ne þouȝte he non,
                                
                                  He wende to sechen his breþren, & souȝte his fulle fon.
                                
                                  He secheþ hem, ne mai he hem finde, þerfore him was wo;

                                  Ac lutel er hi weren in Sichem, bi hem ich stod þo.
