Siperly of the 22nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment wrote 3 letters from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and "Fort Overall" between July 10, 1863, and February 1, 1864. He discussed his unit's movements through Kentucky and Tennessee; described Franklin, Tennessee, where he was stationed for a time; commented on war news; and provided news of his regiment and its officers. His letters also refer to skirmishes against Confederate troops, shared his negative opinion about the Copperhead political movement, and mentioned his belief that Confederate troops had become demoralized.
Milton A. Goff of the 2nd Wisconsin Cavalry Regiment wrote 3 letters to John Sharp from Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Memphis, Tennessee, between October 22, [1864], and February 22, [1865].
