L[ydia] M[aria] Child ALS to Mrs. Relief Loring, Undated (July 2)
Lydia Maria Child Papers, 1831-1894 [Box 1, Folder 90]
hot. I am going to stay in my chamber all day, fourth of July. I shall think it lucky if my bed is not set on fire under me by some rocket, or fiery serpent. The devilkins here do often throw fire works into the open chamber windows. I shall be glad when independence is over. Give my best love to Ellis and Louise, and Anna; and dont forget a kind remembrance to Rebecca and Lucy Ann. Yrs most gratefully, L. M. Child.
