[Lydia] Maria [Child] ALS to Anna Loring, Undated (August 9)
Lydia Maria Child Papers, 1831-1894 [Box 1, Folder 80]
New York Aug 9'th Dear Anna, John starts off suddenly, and unexpectedly to Boston, on business; and though I have not much time, I must just write a word, to say that I love you ever. If my life were full of entertaining incidents, I would write to you often; but one day is so exactly like another, that it furnishes no entertaining theme for a young lady. My excursion up the North river, of which you probably have seen an account in The Courier, is the only jollification I have had for a long time; and I was glad enough to get home then.
