But I really have everything I need just now, and everything I want except money for others, and one plaster image for myself; and I have no place to keep the latter, if I had it. I will therefore reserve the big bill to furnish a home, if I ever have a home. Perhaps you would hire it on interest? It might be almost as profitable as the silk stockings. I cannot leave here now; if I would. In the first place I am using the libraries, for which I paid in advance; in the next place, I have many borrowed books which I could not spare, and should not like to carry; in the third place, (sub rosa my board is paid in advance, too. As for Margaret's marriage, love never seems to me ridiculous. I reverence it everywhere, as life's best blessing. Warm love to Ellis and Anna, and right friendly greetings to Miss Searle.
