Septr. 21st. 1777 Recd. an Express from Col. Chase (as ye Col. then Recd. Letter from General Gates for To assist him with his Regt.) to ride to his Capts— And Commandin Offisers of his Regt. Imediaterly To Raise as many able men in there Companies as — possable with one months provition to March To the Assistants of General Gates. ——— The farthest Officers 27 miles With the others found hors Expence ₤1 15 - 0 Set out as a Vollentire in sd. Regt. The 29 Sepr. With my horse and provisns =₤ for one month Sutibley acquipd. for War remaind. in Servise with the Regt. to there Return four weekes — = ₤ Provisions acquiptments as above Provided for me by Col Chase Daniel Waldo
