Jona[than] Chase ADfS to New Hampshire General Assembly, June 1797

To The Honble. the senate and House of
Representatives of the State of New Hampshire in
General Court Conven'd at Concord the first wednesday
in June 1797 –

The petition of Jonathan Chase Esqr. of Cornish in sd. State
Humbly showeth that in June 1795 he presented a petition
to The general Court then in Sessions at Hanover praying for
Compensation for Expenditures in the Late war but through
the urgency of business at that time the Petition & account
which was submitted at that time has not yet ben
attended to and the state of New hampshire Having
a Demand against your petitioner for some supplys
at the same time which he recd., he is now called on for a
Speedy settlement by your Committee appointed for that
purpose – your petitioner therefore prays that you would
take his case into your wise consideration and allow
the whole or such a part of his account as shall appear
to be due on a fair settlement so that he may be able to
Discharge the Demand the state hath against him
and the ballance if any should be found Due to be paid to him
as well as other Necessary demands and your petitions
as in Duty bound will ever pray
