State of New Hampshire In Committee of Safety January 9th. 1779

To Colo Jonathan Chase Esq—

The Committee of Safety being directed by the General Assembly to
Settle the raising the three Continental Batallions Enlisted for three
years or during the War and make return at the next setting of the General
Assembly of the Delinquent Towns and the Number Delinquent in Each Town that the
Money Expended by the State the year past to hire men to make up such defice
-nces may be fully Justly laid on the Delinquents in their next Tax Bill—Therefore to
Enable the Committee to perform said Business Equitably You are directed
to make return to the Committee of Safety at the furthest by the Fifteenth Day
of February next a list of the men raised in your Regiment for the Service
aforesaid perticulary setting down, the names of the men, the Towns they belong to,
the Towns they Enlisted or were hired for and the Names of the Captains they
Enlisted under and as near as may be of the Time when they Enlisted
or were hired—
