Sr: Capt: Farnsworth Commissary for the Northern department has in orders
to supply the troops with beef only, and as I agreed with you for
Pork, if you insist that I take what you have, I must, take it
tho' as the Case is Circumstanced I know not how to use it for
the Colony at present, for it will not Answer for some Regiments
to have Pork, inasmuch as it cannot be purchased for all the Troops
to have some, Sr: Would be glad that the Next flower you send
may be nearer Merchantable than that you have sent, Write me
pr: Capt: Gilbert respecting the Pork. I shall wait in town for his
return, Yr: Friend
