Condition: fair/good; couple of tears at apex of stela and
two very small ones along left edge.Writing in blue
pencil and pencil on recto.
CER documentation: photos.S 5.638, S 5.688.
Incised decoration: Small squeeze of rectangular, gabled stela
with small sun disk suspended beneath crescent moon
with down-turned horns. Sun disk has compass-point
indentation in center. Damage to squeeze indicates some
slight chipping at peak of stela.
19. 1 copy: 18.7 x 10.7 cm; iconography: 6.5 cm H. x 7.3
cmW.
Condition: excellent.
CER documentation: box 4.5, photo.7.1874.
Incised decoration: Small squeeze representing rectangular,
gabled stela with disk suspended below very thin,
misshapen crescent moon. Disk incised into 4 pie-like
quadrants. Squeeze suggests edges of stela somewhat
worn, with bits of limestone lost.

cm; 3/3 = 40.8 x 15.1 cm; iconography: 32.9 cm H. x
15.1 cmW
Condition: 1/3 = good; edges somewhat folded. 2/3 =
excellent/good; slight tear at top; "67" written in pencil
in upper left corner. 3/3 = good; folding on all sides.
CER documentation: box 1.13 (3/18/25), photo.S 5.556.
Incised decoration: Represents long, thin rectangular stela
with acroteria. Relief framed by 2 columns with ProtoAeolic capitals, upon which rests architrave resembling
awning. Central image is palm tree with sparse foliage on
branches and very long trunk. Entire length of trunk
flanked by vines with heart-shaped leaves. Two birds of
uncertain type faintly discernible flying about, perhaps
about to land on, upper portion of palm trunk on
opposite sides. Squeeze shows evidence of some damage
in upper right corner and upper middle portion of stela.
Although difficult to discern on squeeze, acroteria quite
visible on photographs of original stela (S.5.556).
21. 2 copies: 1/2 = 51.4 x 15.8 cm; 2/2 = 49.9 x 15.7
cm; iconography: 45.8 cm H. x 15.3 cm W
Condition: 1/2 = good; folding and discoloration at top
and bottom along with some staining on verso; CIS
number written in pencil on lower recto. 2/2 = good;
folding at top; tear and large crease in middle.
CER documentation: box 3.6, photo.S 5.559, S 5.554.
Low incised relief Squeeze dimensions suggest possibility of
large stela. Inscription placed above iconographic
representation unique in collection. Depicts standing
robed figure in profile view. Hair, ear, and facial features
suggest generalized male features rather than depicting
owner of stela. Hands raised to shoulder height with
palms facing outward in traditional gesture of obeisance.
Although sleeves of robe extend only to elbows, leaving
forearms bare, robe comes to ankles, with symbol ofTanit
carved into center. Hem, or perhaps indication of
another robe beneath outer one, discernible at bottom of
robe. Figure stands on pedestal with both feet facing
same direction, one in front of other, not unlike kouros
figure. Squeeze reveals that top of gabled stela missing
and remaining portion badly chipped.
Inscription: 7 lines (CIS 3784).
22. 1 copy: 45.1 x 16.0 cm; iconography: 36.7 cm H. X
14.5 cmW
Condition: excellent; small holes on right side halfway
down; "9" written on verso in blue pencil.
CER documentation: box 1.13 (4/2/25), photo.S 5.694.
Incised decoration: Depicts rectangular, gabled stela in
surprisingly good condition with elaborate and intact
iconography. At top crescent moon with down-turned
horns rests above solar disk, which seems to emit rays or
beams. Rays concentrated on altar upon which rests very
thin Egyptian solar barque. Altar rests on architrave of
two Ionic columns on opposite sides of squeeze.Very
abstract symbol ofTanit between the 2 columns extends
to bottom of squeeze.
23. 1 copy: 36.3 x 13.4 cm; iconography: 23.7 cm H. x
10.6 cmW
Condition: excellent; small tear at apex of gables as well as
one on left gable.Writing on recto in blue pencil and
pencil as well script in pencil on verso.
CER documentation: photos.S 5.690, S 5.627.
Incised decoration: Depicts rectangular, gabled stela with
abstract motif. Symbol resembles bottle with no neck;
disk attached directly to top of it.Two horns in shape of
crescent moons protrude from left and right sides of disk.
Entire symbol rests on rudimentarily anvil-shaped altar
and stands below crescent moon with down-turned
horns. Compass-point indentation in center of disk.
Caduceus seemingly suspended in mid-air directly to left
of symbol consists of disk resting atop staff with globular
base, with horns pointed upward, and, presumably, 2
ribbons hanging down from where disk and staff
connect. Stela apparently in good condition.
24. 1 copy: 18.1 x 10.1 cm; iconography: 11.2 cm H. x
1.9 cmW
Condition: good; slight tear at apex of stela; pencil script
in upper left corner on recto. Four pinpoint-sized stains
on verso.
CER documentation: photo.S 5.686.
Incised decoration: Small squeeze of rectangular, irregularly
gabled stela (probably resulting from damage to left
gable). Caduceus (staff upon which rests a figure-8 finial
open at top) dominates center. Long thin ribbon extends
down from juncture of disk and staff on left side. Staff
rests on triangular base whose function, other than to act
as a base, is unclear.
