Denny downed Hammond three times in that round, the first for the count of 9, the second for the count oF 7 which put Hammond out and by rights the fight should have been stopped then, for when he arose, he was so dazed that he; was unable to offer any resistance. Benny finally wound the fight up with a hard left. McCombs~ next fight will be a main event in Chicago. Jackie Collura in a ten round bout in 1943 after Collura took the Featherweight title from Jackie Wilson. He also beat the highly-tcuted Phil Terranova in a non-title bout after Phil had won the title. He also beat Sol Costa was just not the man to beat Flint~s blond bomber.
