It promises to be a big affair as it will join two of the most popular members of the social set. Her: sister, FLORABELLE, arrived this week from Fisk University to be maid of honor for the affair. MISS SHIRLEY BRADLEY, daughter of MR. and MRS. MARSHALL BRADLEY of McClellan Sireet and MR. RAYMOND PEA were married Saturday evening in a quiet ceremony at the parsonage of the REV. MR. TIMMONS who also pes!ormed the rites. A reception was. held after the service at 93; McClellan ~:reet. The couple will be at home to friends at 906 E. McCtellan. ~. Welcome home io COLUMBUS HAMILTON and ARZO THAMES who have been discharged from the Armed Forces. BOYD WEST will be ihe discharged in time to have.Christmas at home and ROBERT CAMPBELL will arrive this week on furlough from Texas. Welcome home; fellows. Deepest sympathy is offered to the families of two prominent Flintites who passed away this past week. MR. LUDDIE TUCKER who died at Howell, Mich., also youthful PATSY WILLIAMS, whose rites were held on Saturday afternoon from Shiloh Church, ' MRS. NANN:E BURRELL was called to Florida for the funeral of her brother. She is expected to return home this, week. ~MR. and MRS. THOMAS GLASS of Lansing, Mich., were guests ~ over the weekend of MR. and MRS. JAMES BANNISTER of Ninth Street. It secms that a great number of GREAT people were born in November, because there were lots of parties being held in honor of. Novemberites. JOSEPH HOGAN, MAURINE CAMPBELL, FRANK CAMPBELL, WARREN TODD, MARILYN HOWARD, CGRNELIUS NEAL, BicL MATHIS, MARGIE PENDERGRASS, WILL:AM HCGAN, JUANITA MILLS, MR. JOSEPH HCGAN SR and little MISS BEVERLY JEANNE CALLOWAY also GLORiADEEN MILLS. THE BLUE STAR GIRLS held a successful affair at the Armory on Saturday night. These girls brought 70 soldiers and five bos:esses fram Camp Custer in Battle Creek. The style supper at the FICC, then pro g-oup was served a buffet ceeded ~.o the Armory where they danced to the music of GENE SEALS and his SWING UNIT. Everyone present had a grand~time, although there weren't too omany girls at the affair. MISS MAMIE T. WRIGHT was crowned ~~queen~~ of the affair: with Mi~SS VERLENE GIBSON receiving second award. The charming duo-were awarded prizes by DR. J. D. WILSON, who also crowned Miss Wright. MR. and.MRS..GRANVILLE WHITE have home from a tour of Chicago and the South. MR. and MRS. PAUL FRILOT wish to thank heir manly friendsvend. acquaintances for the most thoughtful expressions of sympathy during their recent bereavement. HITTING THE NIGHT SPOTS CPRLPOOLPO ODPL DDD PDO LOO DOODROL OD Ws This week, we fimd the Blue Star Girls hglding the spotlight for the attraction of the week, which was a popularity contest and dance, given in honof the soldiers from Fort or Custer. There were about 200 or more soldiers present.The Blue Star Girls, although small in number, excell at the art of hostesses for the occasion. The main attraction of the evening was the crowning of the pop ularity queen, who was none ~hear than our own ex-Gy Mamie T. Wright. Verlene Gibson took second place honors. Music for the affair. was supplied by superb. band of Gere Seals. Many celebrities were on hand to add class to this benefit ball. Aryong the many celebrities present, we saw: Dr. and Mrs. J. D. Wilson and party, Attorney Elizah Scott, Violet Phinesee, Thomas Terry, Dr. Wrex Weaxer, Mr.. J. P. Bryant, Captain James. Murgeson, Esther Quinn, Mazie Travis, Fredia Sherwocd, Vasti Brown, Rebert Tawner, Charles Mills, and it was quite noticeable that those V-12 Commandos turned out in full numbers, to assist the girls with the support for a worthy cause. Last but not least, the master of ceremonies~ was none other than the world famcvis Marcellus Wilson, our own home town talent, who has entertained soldiers all over the world, traveling with a USO Unit,, and. still doing his bit: for all worthy causes.
