Once more the college crowd have trekked off to their various schools, and among the throng wkom we miss are: MARION WRIGHT, GLORIADEEN MILLS, MARION HOLLIDAY, AWILDA METCALFE, JOHN THOMAS, LAVOY SMITH, FLORABELLE RAYMOND, BILL RAYMOND, GILBERT SMITH, VIVIEN GILLESPIE, MINNIE KEYS, OLLIE BIVENS, KENNETH DONES, CHARLES TURPIN, CORNELIUS OXENDINE, CHARLES WILLIAMS, ROBERT ROBBINS, ROSE ALICE TERRY and BETTY and DELOS RAYMOND. We shall look forward | to their Christ mas vacation. Mater and I trekked off to Detroit and Romulus to spend the weckend in visiting friends and-relatives. -Had a very fine time and while in Detroit was able to call on old friends GER TRULDE SIMS WILLiAMS, whom you can recall is a: farmer~ Flintite. She and her husband, TOMMY, are the proud parents of one of the most beautiful baby girls that we have seen for some time. Little CAROL ANN is just one big dimply smile. They are planing on visiting Flint soon. Welcome to comely Alvita Whilby of Saginaw, Mich.. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Whilby. She ~is attending junior collége in this city and while here, is staying at the Frank Gillespies~ residence on Glilespie Street. The Rev. and Mrs. J. W. Walker have returned from their vacation in the East and are quite enthused over the enjyoyment the trip meant to them. ~Twas really heartening to hear that WARREN WARDELL, our own popular Flintite had been elected vice president of junior college. We certainly take off our hats to you. We also understand that (don~t you quote me) he has received a position on the college publica-: Orchids to WILLIAM ~~S<elly~> JOHNSON and IZORA CAYTCON who spoke their vows on Saturday evening. They plan to reside temporarily at the home of the bride~s mother. Among ihe guests who were present for the wedding was JEWEL BEAUCHAMP of Lansing and NELLIE SOLOMON of Detroit. - Here are some interesting dates to add to your social ca'ender: Sep:. 27 at 7:30 p.m. the Ritzy Teen Marching Unit will present a style show at the YWCA. Oct. 16 will bring a very promising recital bringing to the spotlight Miss Josie Jchnson and Mr. Rudolph Scott, two of Flint~s up and coming concert artists. Sept. 28 the Commandos are coming to our attention to give a semi-formal ball at ~the Armory on Léwis Street. Music will be furnished by Gene Seals and his Swing Un't.
