Thornton EDUCATION OF SEXUAL HYGIENE The youth of today makes most of us sit up and -wonder, What is the matter? I have often wond<red if the parents are ~trying to bring up their children im ignorance, or old stayle innocence. Could this b2 the cause of our youth today facmg so many problems, maybe some of us are ~too strict bring~ng eut the morbid curosity in the child, as there is a peculiar twist to human nature that lriv2s many to do the things hey are specifically told not to do. so é In develcping the character of routh \~s is. part of his or her *ducation. Education of sex hytiene should be taught prop??ly, thoroughly, and develop with the age of the child. Discuss thoroyghly the questions esked by youth satisfy his curosity. answer frankly and truthfully but at the sam? time. offer no information, until he is really at the age of pub:rty. The teaching of sex from & biclegical standpoint is not enough and unless prop2rly taught, may do more harm than -vezk. Oh Gear. Edward Boul, a ripaeter for the Hearst Herald-American, an atternoon daily won a dismissal in Judge Hermes Municipal court last w2ek on cnarges of cap'ng Mrs. Lucille Alien or August 23. He was~. freed despite the victim~s positive identification and testimony plus the ~tes. good The instructions in sex should emphasize the wards of stremgth and virtue, attics than penalties of weakness and vice. The knowledge should enlighten the individuai to a clean mind, social morality, ~eality, and a completely adjusted emotional life. The krfowledge of Sex is in given to teaching the youth individually in the hom? may help In the case of a young lady, she should be taught the beauty of life and goodness from a bibical and spiritual standpoint. She should know the fear of verfereal diseases, not so much the fear of reproduction, as sex life is reproduction, at the proper time. To discuss this once thoroughly and not dwell on the subject too much is best. the emotional nature of the individual should be taken into consideratior and always discuss this alone with him or her in order not to take s2x too seriously. Irn case of a young man, he should be taught to love his mother and sisters, if any, and that a lady should be treated as he would want some your~g man to treat one of tnem. The spirit of adventure is so great in some the mere knowledge of fear and facts of life is not enough. They love to take a chance. Where they have been taught to love the family is so streng in him, he will think ~first, ~{ the peril to his future and the future of his wife. This knowledge will be potent enough. Dignified articles to r2ad can be bought both for the parents and the child.
