By HARRIETTE WALKER Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reed and Family of 710 Haggerty | were visited this weekend by many friends and _relatiyes from Detroit, Mr. and Mrs, Lestier Tatillo, Mr. Frank Tatillo, Mr. Troy, Tatillo and Compar.y,- Mrs. Mamie Deans, Mrs. Hachel Tatillo, Mrs. Lois Godfrey, Mrs. Mary Frenchy, Mr. Harold Brown, Mr. Koy Jones and some of them stayed until Sunday. Everybody enjoyed themselves and had a_nice time talking about the Good Old Days. % * - * A Birthday Dinner was given for Miss Ruth Ann Steele by her mother Mrs. Doris Steele of 209~E. 9th St. Many relatives and friends attended. The Dinner was very, very ee ticions and tasty. The Menu consisted of turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, candiea yams, corn, beans, potatoe salad, cottage cheese salad, hot rolls, cake, pies, jello and punch. Some of. those who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilson, Rev. and Mrs. Callahan, Mrs. Barbara Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Jadene Crutchfield-and son, Mr. Moses Goobsy, Miss Annie Peaterson and Cheryl Denise. Everybody - had a wonderful time.; o * * 2 The Youth of Vermont Christian Church had a very successful program Sunday. 'For- Morning Worship their guest speaker was Rev. Lindell Brady, and the Master of eremonies were Aifryed Cook and in the afternoon the Mistress of Ceremonies ~was Annie Peterson. Two Skits were presented in the afternoon one was\ ~Following the ~rowd~ written by Lorna Crutchfield and the other was ~Yield Not to Temptations~ written. by Barbara Cook. Both skits were written by members of the Vermont Christian Church. The Theme was ~Christ or Chaos.~ If You were to make a Choice which one would you Choose Christ or Cnaos,~ the ~youths of our church chose Christ. + * * A very lovely Baby Shower was given for Cheryl Denise Peterson at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Artis, 1217 Lippincott Blvd. by Geraldine Artis and Ruth Ann Steele. Everything was lovely and the house was very beautifully decorated. Centerpicce for the table was a doll in a Cradle, it was beautiful. The Baby received many lovely gifts. They served cookjes, sandwiches, potatoe chips an dip, candy, peanuts, ifé cream and punch. Some: of those~ who were present were: Mrs. Petty Simpson, Mrs. Helen Buncker, Mrs. Mary Davis, Miss Mary Idlette, Mrs. Madeline Watson, Miss Caro! Buckner; Mrs. Lorna Crutchfield, Mrs. Roberta Courts and many others. Door prizes were given and also a prize was given for different games and the twist contest. | eS *k * j. The 30th Anniversary was celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. ~A. J. Gray, 822 E. Baker St. for dinner.they served turkey and all the trimmings. Scme of those who were present to make them happy were: Mrs. Alfred Robbs, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Johnson, Mrs. Mozell Scott, Mr. Theodore Joiner, Mr. Karuth White, Mrs. Roberta Partee, and their son James andmany, many others -attended. * Vg * A Birthday Dirner was given for Mrs. Mary Edward 820 E.
