~~. ~ ' The Flint Progressive Club will dive. a ~Fat Dance at the Til Morocco Hall Saturday night, November 1 from 9 until. Boogie Woogie Joe and his Combo will be featured along with Benita Reid and the Flint Sqialiites. A PreHalloween party was given by the Labelle Felles Club Friday night at the home of Betty Wilder, Owen Street. The recreation room was decorated with ~the traditional orange and black with skeletons on the wall adding a ~haunted~ touch. Corn stalks and pumpkins were also: duet in the decoration. ~There was dancing and games were played. Prizes were awarded for Halloween costumes. Lolita Adams took the prize for the ladies and Otis Williams took the prize for the men. Enjoying the fun, doughnuts~ and cider were Robin Owens, Willie Fields, Carole Buckner, George Brandy, Norma and Kay Brandy, Robert Temple, Moses Williams, Doug Smith, Arthur Crutchfield, Gail~ Odom, Lorain Collins -and Doris Jenkins and many others. * bd Those seen at-the dance given by the Mix 6 Club last Saturday night at the Til Morocco were Donald: Hogan, Welton Wright, Lester Henry, Louise Wingfield, Virginia |, Easton, Janie Young, Raymond Mitchell, Clifton ~Miller, Sherman Mitchell, Harry. Jones, Vera Rison, Grinn Campbell, Minnie Joyner, Ella Rison, Doris Gant and many pase others.! + * * The Helping Hand Club gave its president, Mrs. Willie McClendon, a surprise birthday party recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Earl Pate, Myrtle Street. Among the many gifts received by Mrs. McClendon was a beautiful punch bowl and cups. There were 12 guests in attendance. A birthday party was held recently in~ honor of Mrs. Susie Renick, at the lovely home of Mrs. Barbara Watson. The hostess invited Bernice Mitchell, Leona Brown, Catherine Wilson, Alice Tipper, Gail Reaves, Katie. Vaughn, Johnny Macklin, Katherine Allen, Nina Jones, and Evelyn Rouhlac. ~ Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Rouhlae were unable to attend because of a previously planned trip to Cincinnati. The party was apparently a good one, for it did not. end until three o~clock the following morning. Those in attendance shared a delicious chocolate cake brilliantly lighted with candles that spelled out Mrs. Renick~s years. There were other tasty foods served to round off a perfect evening of friends brought ~~ to celebrate Mrs. Renicks birthday.
