Washington - State, which | smashed Nebraska 34,12 in_ its opener, will probably be slight favorites Saturday on the basis of its impressive win plus the fact that the game will be play= ed in the Stater~s home field. In beating the Cornhuskers, the Cougars displayed a devastating Z| passing attack, with their junior ~ quarterback Bob Newman throwing three touchdown passes., Although the Mustangs threw it is doubtful State can match SMU~s ground atack, they proved they could run by picking up over 200. yards on the ground against Nebraska, which should keep the Gal defense honest. *~ On defense, though, the Cougars may be in trouble. Roberts, felled by the flu just \prior to the opener, is also the Bear~s ~best passing halfback.
