CHECKER CAB CITED FOR FEPC HEARING DETROIT, Mich.~In August and- September of 1956, claims were filed with the Michigan Fair Employment Practices Commission alleging discrimination in employment against Trumbull, Detroit. The claims were filed by Herman Jones, 8055 American (filed on Aug. -14, 1956); Eulice C. Estes, 2313 Finley (Ang. 15, 1956); and, Leon E. Wafer, Jr., 1281 aBssett (Sept. 20, 1956). - Jones, Estes and Wafer are Negroes and.alleged that race ~ was the basis of the Checker +: Cab Company's denia] of employment as cab drivers. ~ The cases were assigned to ~Sidney. MF -Shevitz.
