Holmes who 40 years later is still on the Wayne staff as Athletic. Director and track @nd cross-country coach. * * Harold Willard, Wayne State quarterback in 1955 and 1956, has joined the Wayne Physical Education Staff as.an instructor Willard, who received his degree in January, is also stu-] dying in Graduate School in addition to his teaching. Willard is from Cass ~City, Mich. a * * ~ Tartar Field, Wayne State home football field, was built in 1948 and was first used for practice in May, 1949. The first varsity football game was played there: coach, graduated from Wayne Wayne~s golf coach since) 1945. A & T College Aggies won the big one last Thursday in defeating Maryland State College, defending CIAA baseball champs, 4-3, in a tight game played here at Memorial Sta dium. Keith Rustin, Aggie ace pitcher, was a big factor in the victory. Maryland State threatened to tie up the ball game in the top of the ninth. With men on second and third with just one out, Rustin bore down te fan the final batters. He had allowed seven hits in winning his second game of the year. each in the second,: sixth and Maryland scored one run ninth frames.
