We, here in Flint were well represented again this year by the
last years winners, Miss Bernice
P. Trimble, who was winner of
the International Air race last
year. The race in 1955 was from
Washington, D. C., to Havana,
Cuba. Miss Joan Hrubec_ of
Cleveland, and a dear friend of
Miss Trimble~s was her co-pilot
again this 3 hegre They were flying
a Cessna for the race.

Miss Trimble dropped out of,the race at Buffalo, New York,
one of the stopping places in the
race, when she learned of the
tragic death of her fiance, Dale
A. Hoth, Flint Pilot, Mr. Hoth
was one of four victims of the
mid-air crash of two_ planes
Wednesday night May 16th.

Miss Trimble, immediately
made arrangements to return to
Flint. She has been a flight
instructor for Hoth~s |.

third, Helen Weattlierillex, of
Detroit was co-pilot.:
