Warren, Louis Lebster and Jacob Pines have again accepted the Honorary Co-Chairmanship of the annual Jewish drive. Walter W. Burton {Elected President Of ~ Rose Of Sharon Union The annual meeting of the Rose of Sharon Credit Union was held at the Rose of Sharon Lodge Hall, 4212 Maine St., Sunday, Jan. 29. Charles Harrington, treasurer and manager of Buick Local 599 Credit Union, and president of the Mich ~ligan Credit Union Association, was the principal speaker. Harrington,~ one of those who helped to set up the Rose of Sharon Credit Union, expressed pleasure in the manner in which the Rose of Sharon Credit Union was_progress.ng. -The Board of Directors, officers and committees as indicated, was elected. President, Walter W. Bur-) ton; Vice president, T. W. McFall Treasurer and manager, William Whitson; Clerk, Roger B. Townsend; other board members are Jesse Fields, Floyd Tillman. and James Harris. The Credit Committee is composed of Lucius Fleming, Albert Garner, and James Blassingame, while Winston Merrimon, John Bridge, and Richard L. River The three honorary co-chairman are well known for their leadership of past campaigns of the Flint United Jewish Appeal, and have been prominent in civic efforts in our community. Mr. Warren was president of the Flint Community Board of St. Joseph Hospital, Flint Rotary Club and the Executive Committee of the Tall Pine Boy ent of Temple Beth EI on three occasions and is a life member of the Temple Board. Mr. Lebster is one of the: pioneers of the Jewish community of}, Flint, bringing his family here in 1905. For close to 50 years, he has inspired Jewish communal activity of every kind, is affiliated with both congregations in our city, a member of B~nai Brith, the Flint Order and the Elks. Jacob Pines, Treasurer of the Flint Jewish Community Council demonstrated. his devotion to Jew the first World War, he volunteered for service in the Jewish Legion of the British Army and served with the Jewish outift from 1917 to 1919. He has been a member of the Board of Congregation Beth Israel since 1929 and served several terms as its president.
