The church has constantly taught men to stirke a happy medium in living as the children of the Kingdom of God. Spiritually we are taught to be humble and child like, but other walks of life we must realize that we are fully matured individuals. Many things are forced upon us as individuals and as a race because the economically insecure mast give over to the person or persons who control our. economy. The church must take advantage of every opportunity presended to teach us.a race to be thrifty give inspiration to our people in and most of all weigh values and encouraging them to want: more than the bare necessities of life. Ghettoes must be broken up and then we can live as a free people. To those ~who possess the means; encouragement should be given them to buy where they choose and forget the barriers set up by jothers beacuse of hate and pre justice. The church must teach is jmembers to be concerned about economic chunch and yet the too values should not become {materialistic. The church must no put too much emphasic on mater in spiritual emphasis. ~Church leaders must realize that our nation has changed from a ru ra] to an urban nation. A mechan ized and speciaized industry is in full sway and sicence has literally revolutionized thought and l.ving Our chief emphasis must be the spirtual function of the church the prayer life, helping the poor, helping people to. adjust themselves to the urban way of living. We must direct our members of the es; instead of big cars. We must encourage investing money in business instead of riotous weekend living. The procession lead- by the directress Mrs. Jeanette Bell, was Impressive as the members wore black dresses and red rose corsage. Mrs. A. Anthony and Mrs. A. ernce contributed music, The eindees delighted the audience with their contribution to the program. Little Eleanor James, Brevda Buckner, and July Peck Bethel Methodist Church, A school of mission will be held each Sunday at 6:00. They will disscuse 100. year in India and Palestine All are invited to come. There will be a union Thanksgiving service, Thursday, Novem bere 24 at Mt. Olive Baptist church. The purpose of this cake sale is to raise money to improve the place of worship.
