(At Home) Mrs} <A. Sprye,,. Mrs. | Annie Wheeler, Mrs. Lulie Simpson (Hurley Hospital) Mrs. Charlotte Perkins Alfred J. Walker ~Reporter Where are the youths of today? It is the duty of the parent; mini-. ster, and teacher to know where the youths of today are and whate they are doing. Youths should be under the guidance of either one! or the other and therefore given ~lby the Shiloh Ways and Means| Ba By Rev. B. J. Boyd Pastor, St. James CME account of at all times. Most of us are more concerned about the family pet; than we are our children. Go to seven out of ten homes in Flint and ask avout the tatauy! pet. You will be given a direct answer as to wher~ it is: then ingu:re as to where the child is and you will be given an uninterested, ~~l' don~t Know~. Most parents in ~lint are too busy makng:noney to s:op! and realize how much the youth of today are in neca of (guluaacr The desire for money has taien! precedence over the tra.a.ng o. tale, child. The Master commanded his IcaJers of the church to go into the hed s-s; and highways and find tiie ~lost sheep and bring them back to tne fold. Youths are left floundeving in the quagmire of sin. because vhey have little to offer ii the way of ' financial aasistance. ~ioo i. aany churches want to drain the youths of their meager iinance and invest nothing in them. We se 2y that cshey are the church of toi:orrow, but they should be integi~nt qd. into the church of today. Cherch le:ders must be unselfish in their ser ices rendered to youths. The church has lost.mosi of its, youths. There is a great deci ease in Sunday School a.tendan.:; a greate; decrease in youth ai_endance at church servic Not many years in the pest, Any: youch who regarded -hin:se!f) as somebody in the ~ommuniiy, Was dressed his best on Sunjduy morn ing and found in church service or Sunday ~school. Youths of vesterday were s2@minglywell fortified with sore religious truths an] teachings. They knew verse after verse and could quote long passages from the Bible Youths of today are faced with ' program given to them by former generation of youth. The brothel houses and other dens of iniquity are owned and operated by adults | who should be guiding youths: in the right way instead of leading | them to destruction. Many of these ' persons are given leading positions |within our churches. While many persons who lead decent lives are forced into a corner because they ~labor for God and not for man. We must love our youths to the extent that we will invest in them and not exploit them. We must ~take them off of the streets and not drive them to the streets. We ~must bring them out of the bro'thel houses and not harbor them within for our own selfish interest. Jesus came that we might live more abundant:y, and that covers ~all walks of life, social, religious Or economic. No church can be 89. ~ | biased as to think that it must not | influence all walks of life and deal actively with the problems _~ ~ed to its youths., We must give. credit and encouragement to the youths who remain in the church. They are smaller-in number but greater in spirit and interest. Youths of today must be led precept and example.. As dJeaders it is our duty to continue encouraging those within and go out to convert the delinquents. } - Catholic Church Official Hits Attack On NAACP [a New York - George K.
