Every father. on the*block did the same thing. They were not educated men, but they were fathers,first, last and all the time. e had our gangs. There was the baseball \gang, and the football gang, the skating gang and the swimming gang. There was plenty of rivalry~. between the mee G ers and not a few fights. But. they.were clean. and fair fights and they were often over the rivalry of achievement - daytime achievement most of it. ~ These are not pictures fromthe remote past of the ~good old days.~ They are of decent American: youth, virile, ambitious, lawabiding. This kind of living will not be brought back by curfews, |: by| books and articles on cause of juvenile delinquency. Only your family~s determination to be the kind of family God meant it to be will bring back these days of happiness. he first thing needed is a true home. The true home is a replic of Nazereth in which the holiest family of all lived. This means a home that is without quarreling or nagging; neat, orderly, and as attractive as the ~combined efforts of ithe whole family can make it. The ideal home is one that echoes with prayer and love of God and one another. ~The family ther~ prays together, stays togeth ~ and plans and works and loves together too. Olive Baptist Church had scheduled Sunday, October ~9, as the day; for honoring Mrs. Rosa lL. Kimp who was the efficient president of this group for more than 12 years. Because Mrs. Kimp was committed: to her special assignment with Mrs. Nannie H. Burrough,.in Washington, D.~ C.,the Kimp by bringing the recognition. ceremony to her home hours before she departed for the nation~s capital. Mrs, Kimp -was presented with a gift. F all. Program Begins This Week Mr. James Johnson, Director announced that the Fall program is now opened to the young people.| The program will include general recreation, reading tables, television viewing, roller skating, and) after each~ local Northern football game,~a teenage dance will| be sponsored. For the most part, public reac-, tion to.the recording has been a cellent, according to Lillian Cu ber manager of Herald Attractions, who handles the: Travelers bookings. Specialty president, Art Rupe, reports favorable reactions and excellent sales - throughout the country. | | J. W. Certainly we would be the Tast group in the world to dé anything to offend or desecrate the dignity of gospel and ~ spiritual music. Instead, we feel that ~we have captured the genuine beat and cadence of gospel music on these two sdes.~ God made both tears and laughter, and both for kind purposes for as laughter enables mirth and surprise to breathe freely, so~tears enable sorrow to vent itself patiently.
