This most talked about show of shows was witnessed by.-Mrs. Grady - Truss, 1520 Park ~Street, and Mrs. J. Highgate, 2006 Winans Avenue, last Saturday when they motored to Detroit to join that happy throng of women. The third annual ~For and About Women~~ ~Week Fashion Show-was presented -in cooperation with: the Couture Group of the New York Dress. Institute. This magnificant show ran for a week at the Detroit Music: Hall. That beautiful dream almost became a reality for these ladies as they were able to follow the models through the seven scenes and witness~: woman in her seven natures as portrayed by the models. The creations were as follows: Woman is spring in crisp suits. Woman is a flower in flow ered cottons, flower-bright sports clothes.: Woman is a butterfly in gossamer party dresses, brilliantly muted colors. Woman is a jewel in jewel-studded gowns. Woman is an angel in innocent white... or a slightly naughty angel in black and white. Woman is eternal in magnificent ball gowns.. IRMA WILLIAMS. blazing colors. * These ladies report that this was a treat of a life-time and for those of you who missed the show, these styles are due in most of the leading Detroit stores soon... Oh, Woman! Oh, Spring! a ~. Friends of Miss Georgetta Weaver are still talking about the lovely party she gave on February 6 in honor of Mr. Earl Greenfield of Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Greenfield is with the U. S. Armed Forces but like others in Flint, ~~~Memories linger on.~~? Guests who gathered at 822 E. Miss Elsie Pratt and Mrs. Ann Hedrick, lovely daughters of -Mrs. Cleveland Pratt of 4305 Maines, spent the week in Flint as ~guest of their ~mother. ~ a * * VALENTINE PARTY...A group of young adults joined in much fun and merriment last Saturday evening as they matched wits with each other in the ~many games offered by their hostess, Mrs. Albert Vaugn,-1967 Crocker Avenue. Prizes in Whist went to Miss Rose Scroggins and Miss Delores McGee and Leon Bryant captured the prizes in checkers. Refreshments were served by the hostess. DONA-NETTES... was the name chosen by this lovely group of ladies when they gathered last Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Frank L. Dilworth, 766 E. Parkland to inaugurate a social club. A lovely Valentine Buffet-style Luncheon was ~set to lighten the evening.
