The wise man, Soloman has~ said, ~Therefore get wisdom, and with all thy. getting( get understanding.~ Misunderstanding has caused more heartaches, more fears, and more wars than any other one thing. We hear the poet as he pens: these famous lines, ~~Misunderstood the Savior of sinners, He was God~s only Son. Hearing Him calling his Father in heaven, not my will, but Thy will be done.~ Not only should we understand Vermont Christian Church News Many citizens. of Flint and near-by areas were greatly inspired by the outstanding Interracial program given at the Vernon Christian Church Sunday, Feb. 14, at, 3:00 p.m. This was | an occasion to be remembered by: all who attended. We are using as a theme: If You Care ~ You Will Share. Rev. T. W. Courts, Pastor ~| will always remain. n of The Week. ye our brothers, but we have the ~| great opportunity and privilege of loving them. Jesus said, ~A new command _|ment I give unto you, love ye one another, and by this shall all men _ | know that you are brothers.~ Man has only two duties~to love God ' jjand his fellow man. No wonder ~|the apostle wrote, ~|long, and is kind, love is not en'|vious, love behaves itself perfect-- ~ly, love is never selfish, but al(| ways thinks of others. ~|er thinks evil, ~Love suffers: Love nev~ but always thinks Love. never fails, but love For love is. the greatest thing, in the world. good. || Yes, we know that love is strong~ler than death. For love is life. For God loved the world so much that He gave a life, his only be-- ~|gotten Son (life) that whosoever ~libelieve in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. While we have the privilege of understanding out brother, and the great opportunity of loving Him. ~ We have the grave responsibility of sharing with Him our: blessings. Jesus told the |stery of the: ~Good - Samaritan,~ A certain man was going to Jericho from Jerusalem, and he fell among rob-. bers, who stripped him, and beat him, leaving him half dead. By chance a priest came by and saw him. He passed on the other side. Likewise. a Levite came and look-: ed, he too passed on the other side. May I pause to) make this comment. Look! if you please; two good men, two noble men, two re- > * ligious men came by and saw their brother lying helpless, and dying, refused to help. This was. a great opportunity to see religion in action, but they failed. Re-- member~ it is always's men who fail ~ never God. To walk on the other side of the Jericho Road is easy; for love is only lip-service. How many men and womer - today are guilty of the same sin. It is easy to say leave it to someone else, it is not my business. The other side of the Jericho Road there are no _ responsibili-- ties. What is our to our brothers,. or to the world?~ Could it be that wherever men are dying in in, or wherever souls are hungry, or wherever men need clothing, or sick, or in prison, or even seeking after righteousness, it~s our responsibility? For.Jesus.. said, ~As ye did it unto the least of these, my, brethern, you have done it unto me.~ The last man came by in the: Jericho story gave aid and comfort to a man who he did _ not. know, a man of 4 different race,. but he saw only a man who needed help, and he gave it whole-- heartedly. We must forget our political or racial identity, and see only men -~~our brothers. ~Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethern to dwell together in Unity.~ Golden Leaf Baptist Church Rev. W. A. Vaughn, who is the pastor of the Golden Leaf Baptist Church, is homé from the hospital. He is recuperating very~ well. e "802 E, JAMIESON ST.
