C. ~The Flint CIO workers have| 'started their 1954 program to} fight |discrimination: The first step in this fight is the delegation sent to Washington, D-C., to attend the NAACP Youth confer: ence that will be held:in that city ~next week. While in " Washington, they will be briefed on the attitude of the Michigan Congressmen toward fair employment, and they will -personally contact our Congressmen, and let them know that we are concerned with Fair- Employment. Mr. John Wiglitower is chairman of this delegation and Bill Williams is Vice Chairman. Leo Keating is secretary. The entire ~group are jmembérs of Buick Local 599. Mrs. Katie Harper To Represent Flint In Contest Mrs. Katie Harper The Royal Star Chapter No- 27 of the Orde: of the Eastern Star affiliated with Prince Hall Eureka Lodge No. 16. of the Masonic Order is sponsoring Mrs. Katie Harper in ~the annual state-wide contest for the title ~Queen of ~Michigan.~ Mrs. ~Harper. resides at 818 Taylor Street, and she is a member of Bethel Methodist Church.
