College, won their positions as a result of their participation in the essay contest sponsored by the company. They, along with stuGents of 500 colleges all over the coufitry, wrote essays on the subject: ~How American Youth Paces the Future.~ Of the 2% essay winners, 25 of whom were white, 13 were selected to be given jobs with the company. Miss Maund and Mr, McKellar wete the two Negro witiners, The purpose of this project as sponsored by Mr. Mack, president of Pepsi-Cola, is to make available job opportunities for youth upon graduation from college irrespective of race, creed or color.
