The bulk of the collection was donated in 1940 by the estate of Irving K. Pond (donor no. 1085). Some materials were donated in the same year by the American Academy of Arts and Letters (donor no. 1168).
The collection is open for research.
To protect fragile audiovisual recordings (such as audio cassettes, film reels, and VHS
tapes), the Bentley Historical Library has a policy of converting them to digital
