- Harley, Ellington & Day, architecture firm. In May 1944, the name of the Alumnae House was changed to the Mary Markley House. This building was closed in 1950. In February 1959, construction was completed on a new dormitory designed by Harley, Ellington & Day, Inc. and designated the Mary Butler Markley Residence Hall. The Hall has nine houses named after Charlotte Alice Blagdon, Orma Fitch Butler, Lucy Elvira Elliott, Josephine Rankin Fisher, Robert Frost, Barbara Jane Little, Jeese Reeves, Frederick Scott, and Claude Van Tyne.
- In 1963, the Van Tyne House, Scott House, and Reeves House names were transferred from South Quad to Mary Markley Hall and the Thronson House, Bush House, and Hunt House names were transferred from Mary Markley Hall to South Quad. Additionally, in 1963, Seeley House was renamed Frost House with the transfer of the name to Oxford Houses. In the 1970s, the Fisher House and Van Tyne House names were switched.
