favorable decision forms a part of a great many petitions. Our stela is a
cumulative inscription, as it incorporates all the separate
communications, up to date, from this and from the immediately

In OGI 168, n. 17, Dittenberger was unable to decide whether
icopte~ouat is a verb or a participle: "Quare nescio an soloece pro
coniunctivo K1oiPu'ioxli a particula finali Uvcx] pendente incisum sit". I
think it stands for the subjunctive.
17-18 Diodorus tells us (1.70.6) that already in Pharaonic Egypt
it was a part of royal etiquette that in his daily prayers a priest recited
