- The handwriting is large, with letters widely spaced; it is of a type common throughout the IIIrd cent. B.C. - The hand of the label written on the Verso seem to be that of Ptolemaios (see P.Mich. XVIII, 772)(Caulfield - Keith - Pratt)

- Menches and Harentotes and Menches, the tax farmers of Oxyrhyncha and the villages listed below, to Ptolemaios the tax farmer of the kollybos and the goldsmith's tax of the nome of the 11th year, greetings. We have from you thirteen hundred drachmai in copper (that is, 1300 drachmai) and we will pay out to you by month, together with the tax, into the royal bank, in Thoth, four hundred drachmai and the tax of thirteen hundred drachmai (that is, 1700 drachmai) and in Phaophi likewise 1700 drachmai and in Hathyr likewise 1800 drachmai. Farewell. Year 11, Thoth 19.
