Guarantee of Immunity
Content
Contract guaranteeing immunity, whereby Herakleides, son of Herakleides the younger, agrees to protect Kronion, son of Apion, the notary of Tebtynis, against any penalties he may incur for having issued to him without the proper warrant a contract of cession prepared for his late father; Kronion had refused to issue this document because of the father's failure to produce the necessary authorization from the bureau of catoecic registry. P.Mich. XI, 621, is a note to Kronion by the former owner of the land, Herodes alias Herakleides, confirming the same cession of land, already in 37 A.D.

Translation
(Recto)
Herakleides to Kronion, son of Apion, nomographos of Tebtynis, greeting.
I agree to make you and your assigns free from danger of arrest or seizure in any respect with regard to the contract of cession which I have received from you and which had been made through you for my father Herakleides the younger, son of Maron, who has been dead for some time, for thirteen(?) and one-half arourai belonging to Herodes, also called Herakleides, the son of Lysimachos, because he, my father, had not given you an order from the current land register of that year owing to the fact that the same order was lost without trace; and (to defend you from) whoever may prosecute (you) about this or about any other point set forth in the same contract of cession. Let this handwriting be valid whenever it may be produced and for everyone who may produce it.
The eighth year of Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus Imperator, Pharmouthi 14.
