- To the sitologoi of the village of Karanis, greeting. I, Sarapion, son of Phasis, (cultivator) of the 6th cleruchy, have received from you as loan of seed grain for the present 23rd year from the grain of the past 22nd year, for 3 arourai in Karanis, 3 artabai of wheat; for 3 arourai in Ptolemais, 3 artabai of wheat; for 1 aroura in Kerkesoucha, 1 artaba of wheat, (equal) 7 artabai of wheat for 7 arourai. (2nd hand) I, Kastor, son of Petheus, have written for him because he is illiterate. (3rd hand) I, Kastor, agoranomos, have signed for seven artabai. Year 23, Hadrianos 30.
