Day by day register of abstracts of the contracts recorded at the record-office (grapheion) of Tebtynis during the four last months of the 2nd year of the Emperor Claudius. - Col. III, abstract 3 records a contract of paramone, by which Phasis acknowledges that he has received 100 drachmai from Haryotes and is to receive from him a monthly allowance, in exchange of what he binds himself to remain at Haryotes's service instead of paying interest on the loan; the contract was registered on May 13, 42 A.D. (see also Verso, col. II, 17, which makes clear the nature of the contract)

Translation
Phasis, son of Peteno(--), a Persian of the epigone, about 30 years old, with a scar on the forehead on the left side below the hair, acknowledges to Haryotes, son of Lysimachos, about 24 years old, with a scar on the left forearm, that he has received from him 100 silver drachmai, and in place of the interest and the one and a half artabai which Phasis shall receive in addition each month from Haryotes on account of a monthly allowance of grain from the aforesaid portion of Haryotes; and of the shearings of 4 sheep which he shall receive annually from Haryotes; and of the poll-tax which Haryotes shall pay on his behalf at the village of Oxyrhyncha, in the division of Polemon <- - ->.
Signatory: Polemon, son of Polemon, about 24 years old, with a scar on the right shin.
