Day by day register of abstracts of the contracts recorded at the record-office (grapheion) of Tebtynis during the four last months of the 2nd year of the Emperor Claudius. - Col. II, abstract 10 records a (demotic?) contract of deposit of 182 drachmai, as registered on May 13, 42 A.D. (see also Verso, col. II, 14)

Patynis, son of Patynis, the son of Pallouaus, a Persian of the epigone, about 47 years old, bald, with a scar, on the forehead on the left side and the left eyebrow, acknowledges to Malles, son of Orseus, who is not yet of age, being about . . years old, with a scar on the right knee, acting with his guardian <OR: with the authority of> Petesouchos, his brother by the same father and mother, about 35 years old, with a scar on the right cheek, that he has received from him on deposit the sum of 182 drachmai in coined silver as a deposit free from all risk and all deductions. This Patynis, the party making the acknowledgment, will repay whenever Malles may choose, without any delay or subterfuge, and if he shall mot return it, he shall pay the (usual) penalty.
Signatory for the acknowledging party: Kronion, son of Haryotes, about 47 years old, with a scar on the left foot.
