Translation
To . . ., village secretary of Karanis, and to Antoninus the elder, son of Sokrates, and the other registration officers, from Terpos, daughter of Mines, son of Harpagathes, her mother being Tapetheus, from Karanis. In accordance with the orders I declare my sons for the house by house registration of the past seventh year of Imperator Caesar Nerva [Trajan Augustus Germanicus] Dacicus, for the house in which I live in the village, formerly owned by . . ., former gymnasiarch.
They are:
Onnophris son of Phanomgeus, the son of Onnophris, 5 years old, without distinguishing mark;
and Petesouchos, 4 years old, without distinguishing mark;
and Phanomgeus, their brother, 1 year old, without distinguishing mark;
and I, Terpos, 35 years old, with a scar on the right forearm.
The eighth year of Imperator Caesar Nerva Trajan Augustus Germanicus Dacicus, Phaophi 23.
