Translation
Copy of the affidavit.
Sarapas, son of Sarapas, the son of Petheus, from the village of Karanis, to Dios and Isidoros, inspectors of sowings for the Herakleides division of the Arsinoite nome. I swear by the Imperator Caesar Domitian Augustus Germanicus to cultivate, from the present 8th year of Imperator Caesar Domitian Augustus Germanicus, the four arourai of public land in two parcels, formerly belonging to Anoupis, near Patsontis, and that I will pay the rental in kind and other charges; otherwise may I be liable to the consequences of the oath. The notary of Karanis wrote for him, Sarapas, about 21 years old with a scar on his forehead on the right.
