- . . . [which] the party of the first part shall of necessity [repay] to Sarapion [in the month] Soterios of the present [ninth(?) year] of the Emperor Caesar Domitian [Augustus] Germanicus without any delay [or] subterfuge. If the party of the first part [does not repay] the [drachmai] of silver [according to] the contract, he shall pay to Sarapion immediately the money increased by half and with the interest, the right of execution resting with Sarapion against the person of the first party and against [all] his property, as if in accordance with a legal decision. And [it shall not be permitted] for the party of the first part from the present time to sell or mortgage or otherwise dispose of the fourth share that belongs to him of the vacant lot in the village of Karanis until he shall pay back the aforesaid money. The signatories for the party of the first part Pasion, son of Ptolemaios, about 34 years old with a scar on the under side of his left forearm, and for the other Isidoros, son of Alexander, about 69 years old with a scar on his right knee(?).
- (2nd hand) I, Papeeis, son of Psenobastis, a Persian(?) [of the epigone], acknowledge that I have received from Sarapion, son of Sarapion, a loan of forty silver drachmai, which I shall return in the month Soterios of the present ninth(?) year without any delay or subterfuge as aforesaid. Pasion, son of Ptolemaios, wrote for him because he is illiterate.
- (3rd hand) Serapion, son of Serapion. The agreement was made with me as aforesaid. Isidoros, son of Alexander, wrote for him because he is illiterate.
- (4th hand) Year [9(?)] of Domitian, 23rd of the month Domitianus. Registered through the grapheion in Hiera Nesos.
