- Translation
- To Apollonios also called Ptolemaios, strategos of the Arsinoite nome, Herakleides division, from Psenamounis, son of Pakysis, of the village of Karanis. On the night preceding the 22nd of the present month Phamenoth my mare, wheat-colored, disappeared while being led to water, which I immediately reported to the officials of the village. Since up to the present she has not yet appeared, I present this petition and ask that it be entered on the register, so that if she is found, I may retain the right to plead.
- (2nd hand) I, Psenamounis, son of Pakysis, vineyard worker, have given.
- (1st hand) In the . . . year of Aurelius Commodus [Antoninus] Caesar [our lord], on Phamenoth 30.
